The Aftermath : Blizzard 2011

We really were quite fortunate. We all kept safe and warm during this blizzard, and it didn't hit as bad as we expected. The house did sound as if it would collapse in the gusty winds, and most of the night was a white-out blizzard, but the sun is out now and it's beautiful.... yet frigid cold!

So, the blizzard hits and the first event is David getting stuck in the driveway coming home from work.... He pretty much so got himself out, using a shovel and the van (which has a hitch) :)

In the morning, David was unable to get his car out to go to work.... His car is in the garage door on the left.... He stayed home all day. Our Brother-in-law came and plowed us out around 2:30pm, after plowing Sam's Club and Walmart all night long.... he was running on 0 hours of sleep in the last 36 hours.
The Van wouldn't have done much good either.... it was snow blasted, and drifted in as well....
Our driveway entrance... beautiful, but impassable.

Luckily, the snow plows came every few hours to clear the drifts across 136th. If anyone could get out of their driveways, they would have a fairly clear road with no one on it! :)
