Dutch Life : Bakkerij

Tulip Time : Day 3

The Dutch are known for their delicious (bakkerij) bakery goods.  My favorite is the deBoer Bakkerij in Holland.   They make Krakelingen,  Banket, and Lekkerbekjes, along with many other tasty treats! 

Fun Fact : Krakelingen (figure 8 sugar cookie) is a favorite, and only requires 4 ingredients!  The Dutch apparently were not too health conscious, because it is made of Water, butter, flour and sugar.... mostly butter. 

I attempted to photograph a candy store, and Dutch Bakery, but found Starbucks display of muffins to be the perfect fit for this image's vision.

Calvary Sports posters!

Although we are well into the sports seasons, this is my first go at the sports photography for this school year.   We conquered Boys Soccer, Cross country, and Girls Varsity and JV Volleyball and a few Junior High school sports teams all in the same session.  I try to get a vision for a poster that is made up of 30+ photos/layers/blends and overlays, then 

I'm super excited to get to go to Ben Shirk's sports Creatography class in Iowa next month.  He is an award winning photography Nationally, and Globally, and I'm sure I'll learn loads from him.  He was one of the photographers that has inspired me to try new photography techniques and bring it to a whole new level. 

 I'm proud to present some of my newest posters for our kid's small Christian School.   Enjoy!

LHS : Showcase 2016

Living Hope Singers Crushed it again with a great line up of songs for their Showcase 2016!  Performances are March 18 and 19!  Don't miss it!

Ridge Point Father Daughter Dance 2016

What a blast!  Daddy's and Daughters investing in time valuing each other.... I'm not sure how many years I've photographed this event, but it's probably year 5 or 6, and it's always such a great experience!  This year, I had a young assistant help out... (Thanks Megan!) It's always a rush to get as many couples photographed in 1 short hour... I'm always amazed how God can either stretch time, or make me shoot faster.... (Hey, He did make the sun stand still once, so this certainly isn't outside His limits!)  I think we were able to do just over 100 couples in that hour.... that's like 30 seconds a couple!    Check out all the photos and download to print them HERE!

Calvary Golf Classic

I had the opportunity to photograph the Calvary Golf Classic this fall at the Ravines near my studio.  It's a fundraiser that do for their humble school, and although the weather wasn't amazing, it still was a great, and touching event.  I ended while photographing the girls volley ball at the HC gym, and they ended with a tribute to a late volley ball member who lost her life this summer, much to soon.  I'm proud to be part of a school that feels more like a big family, and I'm excited to see our children grow there.
