Beautiful little Charlotte arrived Thursday September 16. Turns out, I know her mom AND dad! I never quite know clients for our smaller shoots, because all our correspondence is done through e-mail instead of meeting them face to face, like we do for our weddings. When they arrived at our home studio, I recognized them both as two awesome individuals that I graduated with from High School! Brad could always make you laugh, and Lindsey was always kind to everyone from any friend group. I found out during the shoot of their first born, a little girl Charlotte, that they were married 5 years ago after dating for about 5 years! Well guys, she's absolutely darling, and congrats again on your 5 year wedding anniversary! Here are some teasers of your little miracle! May God bless you as parents and give you the strength and wisdom to raise your little Charlotte to be a daughter of our Lord and Savior!

Eric : Senior
Another handsome senior! Eric is a XC runner for Zeeland East, and he was fit! (not to mention, buff!) We had the privaledge of doing Eric's Senior photoshoot on a day in between all the rain storms we've had lately. We had originally planned for a studio session, but as we are working on packing and cleaning for our move to our farmhouse, the studio was just a mess, and so we suggested the Ridgepoint running trails for his shoot. Turns out, Ridgepoint trails are his 'home' running trails for all this XC meets! He felt right at home :) Enjoy these quick teasers!

Lex : 6 months!
WOW! Will time let me catch my breath! I want my little guy to stay little, but he's growing faster then I ever remembered Zeke growing! He's trying to crawl, loves solid foods, sits up, rolls from tummy to back, and back to tummy. He vocalizes in hillarious grunts and coos... and has 1 bottom tooth peeking through his little gums. Zeke is loving having a brother that can do stuff now... kinda :) I had to squeeze him in before I get too busy with my sister's wedding, so here is my growing babe!

Bentley : Miracle
Little Bentley was the quietest baby I've ever gotten to work with. This beautiful little boy is 14 days old and was silent for 100% of the time - awake OR asleep. Bentley arrived shortly after Labor day, and we had the privilege of shooting his mom and dad's wedding last year. It's awesome to get to see our clients lives grow into families after getting to share that special big day with them,.... and now another special big day! :) Congrats you guys! You make 'um super cute!

Bang!
It was thunder! 1500 Clays, and 2500 rounds between hand guns, rifles and shotguns! It was the 'Devisser (who knows how many) annual gun shoot'. We think this was our 14th year. Many men, and some women come to shoot guns and have hot dogs, and just hang out. This was one of our biggest shoots, since the weather was PERFECT! The night went smooth and safe. Many men are from our church, and others are friends invited by friends of friends :) Enjoy some of the night :)

Steve & Ashley : Engagement
I'm so happy to finally get to announce the engagement of my little sister! She has found a real keeper, and he has learned how to 'mesh' with our family. We are all excited for Steve to join our family this fall. He has a great personality, he's a great worker and has an awful sense of humor... great for our family. :) Thanks guys, for FINALLY letting me blogpost this happy news. I've been itching to post these masterpieces, and for me, that's sooooooooo hard! Congratulations! I can't wait to photograph your big day... (not too thrilled to have to be on the otherside of the camera for family photos though..... who's gonna take them!?)

Josie : Senior
Josie came to us on the coldest day of summer yet! I've known Josie for several years now. We compete against each other with our horses, and sadly, she beats my butt the majority of the time :) Luckily she's in the JR. division and I'm in the Open classes for adults. I told her I'd have to stop competing when she hit 18 years old and was in my division! :) Thanks for letting us see this new fun side of you.... I hardly recognized her off her horse! Here are some favorites of ours from her shoot. Enjoy!

Brothers
I recently found this photo while looking through some old ones.... I thought it was super cute, and remembered the story behind it after I saw it. Zeke wanted Lex to watch 'The Pond' with him, and so after he unsuccessfully tried to pick up Lex, and bring him to the TV, I set him in the Bumbo seat next to Zeke so they could watch together. Zeke held Lex's hand through as much as the movie as possible. It was really cute to see them starting to act like brothers. It happens more and more as they are growing.... :) www.awakenedimages.com . David & Cara Williams . awakenedimages@yahoo.com

Marshall & Maggie : Wedding
It was super hot and humid with a chance of rain on this couple's wedding day, but everything turned out awesome! They were married on their own front yard, and had their reception party at the Tulip City Rod and Gun club. Their dog was the best ring bearer ever, and super cute! Ends up, Marshall's dad was a farrier in the area, as was his grandpa, so I got to talk a little bit back on my old labor grounds :) A big thanks to Marshall and Maggie for the best wedding day attitudes ever. Maggie was awesome to work with and I say this for one reason. In a beautiful wedding dress, she walked through woods and brush, dirt and sand for all the photos we wanted to get and never once worried about her dress! Her attitude all day was very realistic and very down to earth. Thanks guys!
