Happy 4th of July!!!!

In the morning, we went to Aunt Wanda's house for the breakfast Block party.... She really knows how to keep a theme!!! Everything screamed July 4. Here are some pictures from that "party" We were able to get a 5 generation shot with Great Grandma Deters, and a few others with my cousin Abby, who we don't get to see often now that she lives on the East side of the State. Koops Family

Here is the Koops family.... Not my Koops family, but some of the extended :) We were able to beat off most of the mosquitos in time, but all got a few bites, and had some mosquito casualties....Thanks guys!!!!! Look forward to seeing the WHOLE group in the fall!!!!

Pony Club Rally: Stadium Jumping

Dave and I were invited to the Pony Club Mega Rally at Albion College this past weekend. Conditions were great for shooting, and days were incredibly short compared to other horse show shoots. Pony club is an organization to help anyone under 18 years of age learn care of horses, and most styles of English Riding. The parents are not allowed to help the kids and are not allowed in the barn. This leaves 8 year olds with the full responsibility for their ponies and tack. Parents get a barn tour nearing the end of the weekend. Jennifer Merrick-Brooks (the organizer) gave us the best seats in the house, and being the first professional photographers that Pony Club have seen, we had a great turnout of interest. Kandace Konings: Senior Photoshoot

Kandace Koning is a Senior from Hamilton High, and her passion is her world involved with horses. This is her pride and joy, "Shadow" a 4 year old Quarter Horse Gelding. We had a great time shooting this photoshoot, and had all-hands-on-deck to get Shadow's ears forward!!!! :) Thanks Kandace!!!! You guys look GREAT! Here's some of my favorites... MIHA Jr. Equestrian Meet

Wow! Thanks to everyone for a great day full of fun and competition! We had 15 schools from 2 districts, with 91 total riders for the biggest Jr. MIHA event in Holland yet!!!! I was coach of the Zeeland Christian, and Holland Christian teams, and responsible for 8 riders. Classes were larger than life!!!! (45+ riders in most classes!!!) And we still got a few placings! Great job girls! We had no serious injuries, no fall offs, and a great sportsmanship attitude coming from everyone on the grounds. All the nerves are now calmed, and the stress is back down to a comfortable level :)

In the morning, it rained and we were fortunate that the Van Rhees took a canopy pop up tent to hide under! Mrs. Teune brought all the snacks and drinks for the girls, Lisa Mckellips made sure that showmanship went smooth and handled all the misc. coaching tips throughout the day, and everyone helped EVERYONE get ready for their classes. Later, the day got hot and breezy, so it was actually about a perfect horse show day. Here are some great pictures from the event.... You all look great!
